I was born in Honduras and immigrated to the United States with my mother and father, growing up in Chicago. I attended the University of Wisconsin, earning a B.A. in English and Political Science. After college, I was a member of Teach For America, teaching students with emotional and behavioral disorders for two years in inner city Houston. I went to Michigan State University College of Law on a full merit scholarship and graduated in 2007 magna cum laude. I was a member of the Moot Court Advocacy Board and competed in New York City at the Fordham University Securities Law Competition. While in law school I worked part-time for the firm now known as ChurchWyble, P.C.
