Diego R. Avila

I was born in Honduras and immigrated to the United States with my mother and father, growing up in Chicago. I attended the University of Wisconsin, earning a B.A. in English and Political Science. After college, I was a member of Teach For America, teaching students with emotional and behavioral disorders for two years in inner city Houston. I went to Michigan State University College of Law on a full merit scholarship and graduated in 2007 magna cum laude. I was a member of the Moot Court Advocacy Board and competed in New York City at the Fordham University Securities Law Competition.

While in law school I worked part-time for the firm now known as ChurchWyble, P.C. During law school I also worked at the Prehearing Division at the Michigan Court of Appeals and the Labor Division of the Michigan Attorney General Department. My wife Bette is an MSU alum and we love attending Spartan events together.
